President SCCI Junaid Altaf participated in the Pakistan Economic Summit 2026, organized by the United Business Group in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry
On the sidelines of the summit, President Junaid Altaf held a productive meeting with Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Mohsin Naqvi, where he discussed several important issues concerning the business community of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, President Junaid Altaf proposed the formation of a joint committee between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan to address matters of mutual interest and strengthen coordination between the two provinces.
He also highlighted the challenges related to border trade, emphasizing the need for effective policy measures to facilitate trade and remove hurdles affecting businesses in the border regions.
President Junaid Altaf further raised the issue of wheat transportation, urging the federal government to resolve the difficulties surrounding the movement and supply of wheat to ensure smooth trade and uninterrupted availability.
He also pointed out that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa lacks adequate representation on federal boards and policymaking bodies, resulting in the province's business community remaining unaware of important federal decisions and policy developments. He stressed the need for meaningful representation to ensure that KP's concerns are effectively presented at the federal level.
Highlighting the immense tourism potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, President Junaid Altaf urged the federal government to take concrete steps to promote tourism, attract investment, and improve infrastructure across the province.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi assured President Junaid Altaf that a high-level meeting will be convened in Peshawar within the next ten days, where the concerns of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's business community will be heard in detail and practical measures will be taken to address their issues.
